Er, I think you misattributed that quote. I didn't say thatPsion said:Pffft.
I lived that situation. Last time I visited my gaming buddies in my home town, I played such a character and we used no minis. All it takes in analyzing what is going on and the willingness to ask a few questions.
"He charges me with a longsword you say? I whack 'em!"
Your DM must make a lot of arbitrary decisions on the use of AoOs, flanking, cleave, sneak attacks, whirlwind attacks, cover, concealment, spell area coverage, etc. etc. I can imagine the misinterpretations by players for the above actions when they "see" the battlefield differently.jdavis said:Oh no I won't fall into this trap again, I'll never tell, I refuse to get drawn in to this again...........
(if the fight gets really complicated we use a pencil and some scratch paper, but most of the time we use nothing. I've tried mini's and a battlemap and it was a mess, so no counters or minis, sometimes we even initial the rough map to show where we are standing when combat starts but most of the time we use nothing, no squares or hexes no counted out movements, no nothing.)
