Do You Use the Core Pantheon?

Even though it is a homebrew, yes, I use the Greyhawk Core pantheon found in the PHB.

Various death cults of Nerull have been the primary theme in this campaign. Pelor has temples in most medium and larger settlements, and his followers have provided most of the resistance to the death cults.

PCs have played Clerics of Pelor and St. Cuthbert.

I'm running a Cleric of Kord in an LG game.

Whatcha' got in mind, Mr. Mona? I'm kicking off a new Greyhawk campaign in 2005, so any new GH material get the thumbs up from this crusty old Bugbear.

What Dark Psion said. I have a homebrew with its own gods -- some of which have been stolen from other sources and renamed. But the other DMs in the group run Greyhawk, so they see some use.

Personally, I like most of the gods. I'm especially fond of Wee Jas, for some reason. And Pelor rubs me wrong, but I couldn't tell you why.

Nope, and don't think I ever would. I don't really like it as a pantheon, balanced between being too vanilla and too Greyhawk in flavour neither of which I like at all.

I use the Demon and Devil lords though.

My world, my gods. Except for the demihumans and humanoids. There I keep at least the head gods but will probably flesh out a larger pantheon of my own. Gruumsch is just too cute to get rid of. Of course, I also made him Correlon's grandson as his father was a Cthuluesque type god that captured one of Correlon's daughters. Gruumsch was born and began his carreer by killing and eating both his parents and forming their bones into his weapons, explaining the animosity between orcs and elves.

In the world I am working on, I have Pelor as the dominant force in human lands, with a plan to work in some of the other deities where appropriate.

Nonhuman deities are dominant in their respective races' lands with some worship in human lands where their populations are large enough.

EDIT: Punctuation and clarification

The dieties of my homebrew campaign are essential to the backstory and so, no I don't use the core pantheon.

On the odd occasion when I do mini-campaigns or one shots, then yes, but those are usually not set in Greyhawk but rather Ravenloft, Krynn, Midnight, etc.

Thanks for asking though. But if you don't mind me asking, why not turn this into a poll?

My campaign world started out using the core pantheon... but has changed over time to the point where none of the core gods remain.

Pelor became the LN sun god Solaris, Heronious became the LG goddess Miria, Hexor became the NE god Moloch... and the rest were completly replaced.

Yes, my homebrew campaign uses the core PHB gods. Like someone else said earlier, this lets a Player create a cleric right out of the book without having to read extra material. I think the core PHB gods are just vanilla enough to serve for just about any campaign world.

Let's call this market research.

Do you use the core pantheon? If so, which gods from it feature prominently in your campaigns?

Thanks,

Nope. I don't know the Greyhawk deities all that well, but they're less annoying than the FR deities. There are too many deities for me to keep track of, however.
