Of course not. Especially if I'm not in a campaign where I'd use Roman Catholic Priests.

Which is interesting, because the campaign I'm presently working on has the PC's being agents of the Church in an alternate Earth setting. One of the main antagonists will be Witches (I'm still working out the specific classes, but all manner of Maleficia will be involved)

Yep, I use witches in my campaign as one of the core spellcasting classes. I run a pseudo-medieval game, and I house-rules a witch class together, fusing GR's Shaman book, some enchantment spells, and some druid spells (weather, minor elemental spells, and some summoning spells). Basically, witches in my world commune with spirits and petition them for power in return for sacrifices or favors performed for the spirits. The fun part is when a demon masquerades as a spirit and tries to lure the witch to a path of damnation. :D

So far, the witch class has worked out well- not too powerful, nor too limited in ability. If you have other questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

While I don't use the Witch class right now, I DO plan on using it after I get my hands on Mongoose's Quintessential Witch. Woo Hoo!!

Yeppers- I do. I designed my own (including prestige classes).

There is an entire kingdom ruled by witches (akin to the Old Race from the Witch World series of books).

I use Witches in my homebrew game/world based loosely on the Witches sourcebook from Role Aids. Like Grazzt, the Witches have their own kingdom. They get along great with the Amazon & cat-people kingdoms but are loathed by the Holy Kingdom, who also hate the Amazon kingdom.

Just want to point out that there's a third witch supplement soon to be released from Citizen Games that will be out shortly, The Way of the Witch. Forget Drow, its the year of the witch baby, and I intend to pick up all three witch sourcebooks that are coming out over the next couple of months!

http://www.citizengames.com/d20.htm - The Way of the Witch appears under the Path of the Magi blurb and cover on this page.

Well over a year ago, I downloaded from Eric Noah's old site rules for the witch class based on the suggestions in the DMG, and it included a corrected spell list for the witch based on suggestions Sean Reynolds made. Can't seem to find a link to it now, and I don't remember who wrote it up, but it was very well done and that is what I have used for witches.

I also want to point out that the sympathetic mage and ritual magic rules from Atlas's Occult Lore could also be used quite easily for witchcraft, and a multiclass witch/sympathetic mage might be an interesting combo as well. Hmmm....
