Does a publisher/author's interaction here influence your purchases?

I'm thinking that this would only be a problem if you (a) expected that you would not pay him for his work, (b) expected to use his work without permission, and (c) expected that you would ignore his requests for information about what you were planning on doing about (a) and (b).

Its a fault of perspective. Some of us only see the face presented to us on the messageboard. We haven't had the opportunity to work with you or deal with you under different circumstances. If we had, some of us might have a lot better opinions of you.

That's not a bad point, but look at this thread, where I *am* trying to open up what is going on behind the scenes. The reply from some people is that they don't want to know and/or don't care. This is a segment of the fanbase that actually wants to be *more* susceptible to marketing than ethics or content.
