Does Acid Fog Stack?

If more then one Acid Fog are active in an area does the damage stack.

So if two are active is the damage 4d6/rnd.

Or is it just 2d6/rnd, until the last spell ends?

So if I hit you with three Acid Arrows...?

Acid Arrow is not an AoE spell.

I tend to agree with the overlapping of AoE/DoT spells.

I can't see where multiple Cloudkills would do any increased damage per round. Your damage is from the time spent in the cloud. You would be in one cloud or one thousand clouds (overlapping) the same amount of time thus taking the exact same amount of damage.

Just my two coppers.

If Acid Fog did damage that scaled with caster level, I'd be inclined to argue... but as it stands, I think I agree.

What about someone hedged by multiple Walls of Fire? In the Zone of two Ice Storms (lasts one full round now)? Someone passing through the intersection of two Blade Barriers?

I meant can you stack a Cloudkill with an Acid Fog?

In that case you'd take the higher damage, but still not additional damage from same spells.

Walls of Fire I'd be inclined to agree with so long as they were placed to direct damage on different sides. Walls of Fire in the SAME square however would overlap.

Ice Storm is bludgeoning damage and should stack IMHO.

Blade Barriers require someone passing through them so they would stack. Not to mention they are force effects and would have to be in different locales (albeit very close to one another).

Hm, the problem here is that damage doesn't ever "stack"- only bonuses stack. The stacking rules were implemented to make the mosh of old rules about what protective item works with what make more sense. I don't think there's ever a reference to damage "stacking" at all. "Stacking" applies to bonuses only, imho.

Now, I'll grant you that the definition of "stack" in the PHB doesn't really spell out the intent on this; but if you ask me, if your sorcerer takes acid fog as one of his few precious spells known and then can only effectively hit you with it once per combat, he's been ripped off. I see no reason why a more intense acid couldn't do more damage. Again, if you use Melf's acid arrow as a comparison, if you shoot that lich over there with three acid arrows he takes three times the damage that he'd suffer from one. Acid fog is like a low-damage fireball that hangs around, not like, say, prayer or bless. I mean, if you get caught in four fireballs in one round, you take the damage from each one, right?
