Well, I wasn't around two years ago to state my opinion that they look dumb and I've only looked at them close enough to dislike them. That said, I have spoken, and this thread can die once again.

They're goofy and overdone. Plus, the artwork killed any chance they had of being considered cool. It's like trying to show the conflicted, vengeful, brilliant (psycho) that is the Dark Knight and then using the illustration of the campy 60's Batman complete with the 'POW!' from a thrown punch. The execution of the Desmodu didn't work out as planned I think.

Honestly, given their frequent use it seems like one designer just liked them and tried to stick them in more than their due in the hopes that they would catch on. *shrug*

I think theyre dumb, myself. But then I really hate ALL of the animal people races. Cant stand them, utterly despise them. All I can think of is Mickey Mouse and Disney whenever I read about anthropormorphic animals. Gah. Complete and total disgust. I can take gnolls, but thats because theyre a lot more than just hyena men.

Whoah, where the heck did this thread come from? I thought this thread was dead and buried long ago... Well, I still hate Desmodu, but they haven't shown up in the miniatures yet and they haven't been in any more adventures. So I think I'm okay with that.

Although the underdark set IS coming out...
Oh, I hope they don't put Desmodu in there.

At the time, they were in something like 4 WotC books.
Recently, they've been in 0.

I still think the wrackspawn were a failed miniature mold or something.

Why shouldn't they do that? The minis development team keeps trying to force things like the Bloodhulk and the god-awful wrackspawn down our throats. They'll keep doing it too.

Well, I agree with him... Those miniatures are god-awful. Especially the blood-hulk.
I love D&D minis. But those things rank right up there with skeletal dogs.
