Does Deathwatch see through Mirror Image?

Numion

First Post
It allows to see whether one is alive, dead, undead or neither (such as construct). Now, does this see through Mirror Image spells fakes? Would the user of the spell with a glance see who's the real of the images, and not be subjected to any miss chance?

Or illusions in general, if they depict a creature?

If not, why?

Heh. Yes, this spell clearly belongs to the BoVD. How they failed to mark it for mature and experienced players only is beyond me.

And it sets the tone for alignment shifts, too. So if your PC is a good-aligned cleric, be careful when you examine the wounds of your comrades to see, if they are still alive and in need of help. The evil grin of the DM might be a hint, where you are heading to. You won't like it!

Anyways, sounds like an inventive use of the spell and certainly looks like it should work. :)

Wow, the first thing I thought when I saw this topic was "What the..!?" And then I read it, and holy shiite muslims! Who woulda thunk? :) Definitely sounds like it should work.

Thanks for the answers! Good to know .. my cleric used it constantly even without knowing this ability, and it's even better now :D

On the other hand, MI might give them the Illusion of hit points. Or you don't see clearly who has is alive there, only that one of them is nearly dead (or whatever)

heh... wouldn't the figmants look in full health? They haven't been hit yet, so haven't been damaged...

I think they'd register the same as a construct:

To normal sight, yes.

But this spell looks at the life force, and an illusion hardly has one, at least not a visual/audible only illusion, such as mirror image.
