Now that we have that out of the way, is there any particular reason for your immediate and unprovoked snarky attitude (evident in your first post)? It seems that this has been going on for a little while now. I honestly don't know what your problem is with me, but I would appreciate it if you would cool off, or at least tell me what the problem is so that we can work it out.

I don't have a problem with someone telling me, or even proving, me wrong. I do, however, have a problem with the manner in which you go about it. If you want to prove me wrong, that's perfectly fine, but if you can't be civil about it, then we have an entirely different problem.

Any creature can opt to take -20 on a grapple check to avoid
the more unpleasant aspects of grappling (such as losing your
Dexterity bonus and being subject to sneak attacks from
rogues), not just creatures with the improved grab ability.

So, the -20 is to "avoid the more unpleasant effects of grappling," not to simply use one hand. You can grapple "one handed" and suffer the full effect of being in a grapple. Ergo, why you can attack with a light weapon.

And didn't ENWorld have some item recently about Rich Redman or someone saying that it was fine to grapple someone with one arm while shooting someone else with a gun in the other hand in d20M?
