Does your Dwarven warrior wield an axe?

Borag Dorbek (fighter) uses a warhammer and wears a Rhino Hide.

I have another dwarven war machine (barbarian) set up if need be, and he'll be wielding a spiked chain, most probably.

So, no axe-wielding dwarves for me so far.

I've only played a fighter two times in my extensive D&D career, and both were axr-carrying dwarves.

My next one will use a chain, though. Just because I've wanted to for a while. But it may be a long time before I create a fighter character again.

Never saw anything but hammers until Gimli was axe-swingin in LOTR.
Now I can't give away hammers - everyone wants an axe. :D

Battleaxe (well, it was a Cleric of Clangeddin Silverbeard).

BTW, is there a "Dwarven Warhammer" which does 1D10 damage and could be wielded one-handed (like the Dwarven Waraxe)?

Third edition has convieniently designed axes exactly like hammers. One of my house rules (that is widely accepted even amongst my most lawyerish of counterparts), is that I allow ANY axe to be switched to a hammer, along with changing it's dammge type from Slashing, to Bashing. That allows for d12 Two-Handed Hammers, throwing Hammers, and yes, the ol' d10 Exotic Hammer, call it what you will.
As an even more housey-house rule, I allow Dwarves to be familiar with the d10 hammer as well. It's the beard. :]

Last dwarf I ran in d20 used a Dwarven Waraxe. He had 2 levels in Barbarian, 3 in fighter. Butt kicking machine, that lad.

So far, then, mostly axes. If not, a good deal of hammers, a couple of scythes, a couple of spiked chains, and 3 or 4 swords. Interesting. Only one mace? And no morning stars? Pity!
