Dog Jump Skill

Can somebody tell me if the dog's Jump skill is correct, please? It's listed as +7, but with 40 ft. movement granting +4 and having a +4 racial bonus, it should be +9 with Strength. Am I missing something? The riding dog is the same, having +8 listed, but it should be +10. All their skills go into Listen and Spot.

That's what I think as well, but it's an error all over the animal section in the MM. A leopard gains +8 racial bonus, +3 from Str, and +4 from 40 ft. speed, for +15, but it only lists +11. On the other hand, the cat is correct - +10 listed, and +8 from racial and +2 Dex.

Have you down-loaded the MM Errata file from the WotC website?

That fixes a lot of the errors in the book. (I've pencil marked them into mine).

Yes, I did have a look at that. The dog is unchanged. Most of the changes to animals related to the Weapon Finesse feat.

It's interesting. It seems like they didn't include the +4 bonus for a speed of 40ft for any of the animals. If so, that makes the dog jump skill off by 2. So, I think the error was an added synergy bonus that doesn't exist. You could make it +5 instead, making it consistent (in error) with the others or change it to +9.
