BLACKDIRGE
Adventurer
John Cooper said:Just to chime in, one of the other things to consider is that while the obvious focus of the series is to correct the creatures' stat blocks, while I was at it I also did a proofreading sweep on the rest of the entries. I only added the "Cooper's Comments" blocks to detail what specific stat block changes I made (and why), but there were a bunch of little things that got changed to a bunch of the other stat blocks/descriptions. I just didn't feel that anyone would be particularly interested to read a "Cooper's Comments" block that said "I added a comma between the main AC value and the touch AC value" or "I put the creature's feats in alphabetical order" or "There were two periods in a row at the end of a sentence, so I deleted one." That's all piddly little stuff that, while I deemed it worthy of correction, I didn't see the need to call attention to the fact that those changes were made.
So, even though 24 of the monsters are "straight from the SRD" with no "Cooper-level" stat block changes, they've still been polished a bit more for you. Of course, that said, I'm sure there were probably several that didn't require changes to stat blocks or corrections of a more basic nature, but I couldn't give you a number off the top of my head.
That’s good to know, and in light of that, I retract some of my negative comments about the inclusion of “unchanged” monsters in the product. It’s nice to know that when I need to put an SRD monster into one of my products I can draw from a source that is 100% accurate in all areas, not just statistically.
Now if we can just get you to tackle some of the 3rd party monster books.
