Pathfinder 1E Double weapon and the Returning weapon property

Sorry if this has been asked before, but how does the Returning weapon property interact with double weapons if only one blade is enchanted with the Returning property?

A players who uses an elvish double scimitar from Eberron wants to know.

Thank you.

Presumably, when a character throws a double weapon, he has to choose which end to attack with? If he chooses an end that has the returning property, the weapon will return. If he chooses one without, it will not. (And if the weapon has returning applied independently to both ends, then whichever end he chooses the weapon will return.)

I don't think there are any. Certainly, that was the use that I had in mind - that the weapon would first be made throwing and would then be made returning. And, as noted, these properties could be applied to one or both ends of the weapon, with the latter adding a choice of which end is used when thrown.

a magic melee weapon with throwing, but without returning? That's just silly.
PC: Hello Mr. BBEG, you don't seem to have enough weapons. Here's a two-handed sword!
BBEG: Why thank you, must be off now to sell this. *BAMF*
