Double weapon, wielding two-handed

Hello All. I figure this is a simple question, but I haven't found a concrete example.

I'm creating a character wielding a double weapon. In most cases, I'll be wielding the weapon with two hands. Am I correct in that I get the x1.5 Str bonus for damage? And then I get half of my Str damage for the secondary hit?
The character has a +2 Str bonus, and the weapon deals 1d8/1d8, so what would the damage be?

Thanks for the help!

Hey, RuinedOne.

I'm pretty sure that when you attack with the weapon in "double attack" mode that you treat it as though it were 2 weapons. So you'd get full (but not 1.5) strength damage on the primary attack and 1/2 on the off hand attack. But if you opt to only do a single attack (or are forced to by virtue of already moving) then you get 1.5 strength damage with whichever end you want to use. So:

2 attacks: (1d8+2, 1d8+1)

1 attack: (1d8+3)

EDIT: Damn, you beat me to it! Well, what the other guy said ^^

:D Woo! Look at me go! This is the second time I've beat another poster to the punch in the last 5 minutes! And I haven't even had my 2nd cup of coffee yet this morning.

Too bad this situation has happened to me in reverse about 500 times in past.

There are even some generous DMs who allow 1.5 strength bonus on AoOs... all the time, not only the rounds where the player used it as two handed weapon.
