Draconomicom

First Post
Hello everyone. Im new here so if Im posting in the wrong place or there is already a thread like this, please tell me so I can fix it^^; anyway, I just got the draconomicom, but Im finding that though its lovely, and has some great stuff its lacking some of the information on the different dragons I was looking for. So it seems im going to have to get myself a monster manual. Is the current one the best one to get for dragon information? Thank you.

You want the 3.5 edition Monster Manual, I guess what you'd call Monster Manual I, for the basic dragons (chromatic and metallic). I think gem dragons are in MM2, but I don't really know about MM3 or MM4. Monsters of Faerun has a few assorted dragons, but that's 3e and many of those might be updated somewhere (even maybe the Draconomicon), but someone else can tell you better. You can also look here for WotC's list of all monsters, which you can narrow down to dragons and then sort by book.

The Gem Dragons are in the MM2
The Lung Dragons are in Oriental Adventures (3.0)
The Epic Dragons (Force and Prismatic) are in the Epic Level Handbook
The Faerûnian Dragons (Brown, Song, Deep, Fang, and Shadow) are in Monsters of Faerûn.
The Planar Dragons are in the Draconomicon, as are the Fang and Shadow dragons (redone).
The Mist, Mercury, and Steel Dragons are in Dragons of Faerûn.
The Sand dragon is in Sandstorm.
The Incarnum dragon is in Magic of Incarnum.
The Rattelyr dragon appeared in Shining South.
The Dragon Compendium has the "three lost chromatic dragons", Yellow, Orange, and Purple.

Numerous Dragons also appeared in Dragon Magazine, including more Planar dragons, Dzalmus dragon, Sea Serpents, Arcane Dragons, and the Greyhawk Dragon (almost identicle to Steel Dragon).

Did I miss any?

Don't worry about getting quite all of the books; I don't think you need anywhere near all of them to have a good sense about dragons in D&D. For example, the 10 dragons that have their anatomy and behavior explained in the first part of Draconomicon are all in the MM (Black, Blue, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, Green, Red, Silver, & White). And there are various dragons on the web. There are some in the Creature Catalog here on ENWorld, for example, and some 3.0 versions of dragons in the Monster Mayhem articles (see the WotC Retired Articles archive).

I am collecting alot of info from the web, and this site inparticular (Thank you Creature Catalog for the Yellow Dragon!) But whats the Dragon Compendium? I can't seem to find it. OOPS never mind, I just did. ^^; sorry
