D&D (2024) "D&D Monster Manual 2025 is going to pack a serious punch thanks to a family of monsters descended from gods, and frankly I’m terrified"(Gamesradar)

Get off my lawn!
Also, since dave2008 typically deals with high CR monsters (though not exclusively) you will not miss their monster designs by blocking them.
I know a lot of people like them, but it is no loss to me. They're OP for my style and nothing I use. I haven't bothered looking at them is a while now anyway.

Maybe your are the moderately vocal minority!? ;)
LOL good one! It is an uphill battle for certain. As I mentioned upthread, I am surprised my initial post really got any such responses.

Ok, please stop insulting me. It isn't a "lame" excuse because 1) it isn't "lame" it is part of the game, and 2) it isn't an "excuse" for anything.

MM2 added it because they realized they needed it for creatures which are in fact unique.

I'm sure Tiamat and others would have had it if they had thought to include it in the MM1.

LOL are you kidding me!?! Look at what WotC has done to increase PC power with every edition!!!

And to be clear, just saying TSR doing something doesn't mean it is any better (or make it any better) when WotC does it, and to an even greater extent.

Because WotC is using its resources to make something I don't want and can't use? So, yeah, its annoying. Just like it would be annoying for you and others if the new MM came out without a single CR 15+ new creature in it.

Instead of the 50th anniversary release being something cool and fun that is something I can use to make my game better, I get the stuff we got. Again, it is annoying and disappointing.

Why does it bother you so much that it bothers me? You said a while back this isn't an issue for you, but clearly it is.
I'm not sure what editions you played. In 3e casters were more powerful at high levels especially when you included the supplements. Clerics had spells that took out enemies that were lower levels and ways to increase effective level. High level wizards could cast multiple high level spells a round and of course you could stack as many spells on allies as you wanted.

Can't really compare to 4 it was different.

I wonder if the 2024 Tarrasque will have some way of dealing with flying enemies? The 2014 Tarrasque is not much of a challenge for any high level party, unless it catches them by surprise in a dungeon.
Like @pukunui said, the new Stone Golem has a ranged attack, so they’ve probably given the Tarrasque some way of dealing with Ranged and/or flying enemies. I would probably give it an aura that prevents flight in an aura. And maybe a ranger spine or acid spit attack.

That's why we, as DMs, needed to figure out how much damage a medium sized cottage does when thrown as an improvised attack. Or give it Godzilla's breath weapon like I did.

Animal lords do sound interesting. I hope they are better than the giant dinosaurs from Bigby’s. Those were disappointing.

That is a good idea. I don’t think we will see it, but they could make it one stat block i with different traits and actions that are keyed by type/alignment. They did something like that for the animated breaths in Fizban’s

Interesting, but I think the approach from 4e seems more likely.

Yeah 4e had Godforged Collossi & Primordial Collossi.

Godforged had to be made by an epic ritual, are often in the form of a God or other powerful entity, cam function as an Idol when not in yse and functions as a big arse Golem. Demon Lords and Exarchs can make them, but otherwise it's rare ability.

Exarchs really aren't a 5e thing, Gods demoted to Exarchs are back to just being God's again, and other things are just whatever they were before, like Chosen of a God.

From the illustrations of the tarrasque, it doesn't look like it's anatomy allows for throwing anything. It's a quadruped with limited shoulder mobility. A breath weapon sounds good!
