Draconomicron, Libris Mortis, Lords of Madness

So basically, we should avoid the next book :D

The Star Trek Theory of Movie Goodness (though these books appear to be better on the odd numbers, while Trek was the reverse). Also known as "Don't draft Bret Saberhagen for your Rotisserie team on an even-numbered year." :)

How did the rest of you react to these titles?
Pretty much the same way you did.

I thought Draconomicon was good/mediocre, Libris Mortis was gunk, and Lords of Madness to be very good (and my favorite of the three).

I'm not at all surprised that a "Deadguy" ranked Libris Mortis as #1 of the 3.... :)

What can I say? I just like the Undead. There's something about the living dead that is just really really... disturbing.

Out of the three, Draconomicon has been my biggest let down. It's a beautiful book. Esthetically, I love it. But it would never see any use in my games. In fact, I've actually bought this book twice and returned it both times.

I love Libris Mortis and just got Lords of Madness two days ago, but like what I see.

The Lords of Madness is almost totally incompatible with Eberron, which makes me not like it.

And that's one of its strong points for me. ;)

I was afraid WOTC would attempt to "Eberronize" some of the classic aberrations. Thankfully, they did not.

Then ignore the flavor-text on origins, and focus on the stuff on society and tactics. Oh, and all of the rules material. One of the two games I DM is in Eberron, and I have no problem with the contradictions between Lords of Madness and the common origin of aberrations in Eberron.

Demiurge out.

I love Libris Mortis. I have used the heck out of it.
I do not own the Draconomicon, and don't plan on buying it. I have no interest in dragons.
Haven't made up my mind yet on Lords of Madness. I like mind flayers and beholders, couldn't give a damn about anything else in the book.
