Hello mate! :)

That explains who?

Lord Entropy was one of the Cosmic Heavy Hitters in the Gord the Rogue novels.

In 3rd Ed. their power seems to be accredited to Uber-deities:

Evil = Tharizdun, now Asmodeus?
Time = Proctor Chronos, now Mediator?
Fate = Lady Probability, now Lady of Fate?

Entropy, now ?
Energy, now Jazirian?

Well he also had the orbs from ToEE plus whatever stuff he's inherited from his mummy and daddy.

He's a scrapper but I always thought that St Cuthbert pretty much kicks his hind end whenever Iuz breaks too many rules.

The artifacts I was talking about were more along the lines of the core Greyhawk ones like the Codex, Talisman, Machine of Lum the Mad, etc.

Personally I like the idea that certain elder artifacts like the codex etc are beyond the power of even the greater gods and allow massive spell like effects such as the destruction of planets mentioned in Spelljammer. However using this artifacts is definitely dangerous as few gods can handle the energies involved and as many people want them to stay buried as those who want to use them.

Well, they dont give a full-accounting of whatever items these gawds normally carry. The only item shown for Iuz is a +3 chaotic unholy greatsword.

Although he is listed as having a +7 deflection bonus to AC, dunno if that is from an item or some sort of divine power (the later seems unlikely since he is listed as having a divine bonus to AC = to his divine rank).

Also, it is impossible to reverse engineer their saves. I did this out of curiosity and you come up with numbers significantly different from what is listed.

Iuz for instance is listed at Fort +44, Reflex +34, & Will +46...

if you reverse engineer those from the info provided you get Fort +38, Reflex +35, & Will +40.

An item that grants +6 to saves would account for the difference in Fort and Will, but why on Oerth does his Reflex save go down? :p

There are similar problems with all of them.

I reverse engineered them all (I am familiar with Epic Level Progression*) and concluded (based on HD/Levels and Ability Scores):

* ;)

Fort +35
Ref +34
Will +37

Which means he has a +9 bonus to Fort and Will (this couldn't be an item - since that would add to Reflex as well?).

Possibly Epic Feats that boost these saves? Or Divine Abilities?

To see if I am working it out right...I make Tharizdun out to be:

Fort +38
Ref +41
Will +46

St. Cuthbert is an Intermediate God though.

I agree, it would be nice to see a few like that! ;)

Nope.

Fort +50, Reflex +52, Will +49

Tharizduns Divine Rank is +11 maybe that has some bearing?

Okay lets try again:

Pholtus

Fort +43 (or +58 with Divine Rank added)
Ref +47 (or +62 with Divine Rank added)
Will +46 (or +61 with Divine Rank added)

Incidently Pholtus Hit Points should be 1093, so they seem to have buggered that up!?

Rao

Fort +39 (or +56 with Divine Rank added)
Ref +41 (or +58 with Divine Rank added)
Will +49 (or +66 with Divine Rank added)

Close. His Reflex save is +63 :p

How do you figure that? If you take the average for all of his HD and then tack on his Con modifier you get 822.5

Comparing the Deities and Demigods list to these I've noticed a few differences that seem to be merely about what assumptions they make. One difference is in the "Divine Powers" area. Where they list how their rolls are affected by their Divine Status (i.e. greater god, demi-god, etc) there is an additional line not the in Deities and Demigods list.

From Pholotus: "He also adds a divine bonus of +15 to all attacdks, saves, and checks; this is included in the statistic block where it applies." In all such examples the plus happens to match their Divine Rank.
