Dragon #338

It's three substitution levels, at 1st, 3rd, and 5th level. The 1st level grants trapfinding, and demolitionist, which grants +1d6 damage against constructs and objects (does not ignore DR or hardness).
Ah, that explains why my query was rejected; I proposed a specialist rogue class with exactly the same ability. Great minds think alike. Further, it was inspired by the protagonist from my Worn Torn novel proposal - which was also rejected. OTOH, can't wait to see my imps in print. Woo!

So, is this a Dragon advanced class? Stats for Hamanu et al? Or something else?

No clue, but hopefully both. I'm hoping that Dragon's "Year of Dragons anniversary series" will give us more on the DS dragon kings though. If issue #315 is any indication, the Campaign Classic articles are short, since they have so many to squeeze in the magazine, so I'm a tad bit worried that the article might not do the subject justice due to space restrictions.

Alzrius, thanks for posting the info about the staff for first level wizards. Sounds interesting. I just recently re-subscribed to Dragon and I think this is the first new issue I'll get in the mail (if not, I'll have to special order it as it seems like quite a good one). I'll share this information with the wizard's player to see if he wants to trade his summon familiar ability for the staff.

I understand the Lady of Pain is on next issue's cover.

Oh, and hey - Monte Lin! Good for him!

Monte Lin? Please expound on what this means!

Aha. I read all the above posts, so I see he's got some Planescape factions coming up.

Am I the only one drooling over the next issue? Xvarts!
Xvarts! Xvarts! Xvarts! Xvarts!

In the best and longest running campaign I ever took part in, the DM 'gave' us Xvarts to slaughter when we had been particularly good (and to quell our chant of "Xvarts! Xvarts! Xvarts! Xvarts!") :p

Oh halcyon days of 1E!
