What does the sidebar for the chess article have w/ regards to the 'loths and the githyanki?

And I'll second the question about the Styx. :)

IIRC, it's just lists of ideas for substitutions to "make your own set" :)

Seconded. I'd love to hear what is currently going on since the last game I ran was set there...

Last thing I know is an army of aasimar dedicated to the Untheric moon deity Nanna-Sin appeared to aid Unther in their battle. That's about it. It's long overdue for the FR designers to make an Old Empires book again.

Have you looked at Complete Arcane and Complete Mage yet, Asmor? Just wondering. I mean I agree that those arcane feats seem pretty nice. Just curious you know...

Oh, of course! I haven't really glanced at the feats (though I've read most of them before anyways), but I was specifically looking for how to plan my character and was looking at prestige classes.

I was actually hoping that the "unique" feats in Dragon live up to their billing.

Sorry, had to dodge a hail storm here in Oklahoma.

Master's Forge: Introduces a new feat Artisan Craftsman. Each time you take the feat you gain the knowledge of how to incorporate one or more item quality (depening on how many ranks you have in the chosen skill).
Item qualties are Acid Washed, Basket Hilt, Blood Grove, Caster Armor, Deceptive, Enhanced Bracing, Enviromental Design. Folded Metal, Lightweight, Long-Range, Ornate, Pefect Balance, Razor Sharp, Reinforced, Resilient, Segmented, Serated, Vital Coverage.

Still reading the Core Beliefs: St Cuthbert.

No advanced Kaorti, but a new servant creature the Urquirsh is introduced.

The alternative Chess set side bar tells what creatureso use as what pieces. Yugoloth Chess would be Pawns=Skeroloths, Knights=Canoloths, Bishops=Mezoloths, Rooks=Piscoloths, Queen=Arcaloths, and King=Ultroloth.

Savage Tides: The River Styx: Includes a Knowedge (Planes) check, it's effects on people and where it flows through the planescape.

Have not read the Volo's Guide, but an overview includes the current status of the churches of Tiamat, Gilgeam and Hoar. The politics of Thay, Mulhorand and northern wizards. And the status of the organizations in the area.

Arcane Feats: Arcane Focus Item: Allows you to sacrifice a prepared spell to spontaneously apply a metamacic feat you know to lower level spell.
Arcane Shorthand: Spells take less room in your spellbook
Book Smart: You may make untrained Knowledge skill checks for DC's higher than 10
Eldritch Claws: Use an Eldritch blast as a Claw attack
Forcefull Spell: You spell slams the target
Grappeling Blast: You can use your Eldritch blast while grappeling
Slimy Spell: Your spells nauseate the target
Wedded to the light: Your connection to the Positive plane turns your familiar into a creature of living light.

And the next and last issue;
Super Villains of D&D
Demonomicon of Iggwilv: The Appendicies and new Demon Lords
Relics of Greyhawk
Mysteries of D&D: The Darkest secrets of D&D
The Wizard's Three: Where they discover their eavesdropper
Elminster vs Rastlin
The Ecology of the Tarrasque (staring the Monster Hunters Association)
And the final Volo's Guide, Dragonmarks, Savage Tidings, Class Acts, Nodwik and the Order of the Stick.

Sounds like I have another storm to duck, be back when it passes.

A quick threadjack from me: Sorry I wasn't able to give the scoop on this month's Dungeon or Dragon! I'm currently having critical internet connectivity issues, which have basically left me offline for the last week. I currently can't get on at my house at all, though I'm frantically trying to change that. (Yet another reason why I don't like the Digital Initiative!)

I'll definately cover the last issues of the mags though, no matter what!

Ahem, that said, this month's issues of both magazines rocked! All hail the guys at Paizo! :)

Checkmate: The Chaturani are extraplanar constructs based on chess pieces. There is a sidebar on alternative chess sets based on Beholders, Devils, Githyanki, Illithid, Undead and Yugoloths.
Ecology of the Kaorti
Savage Tidings: The River Styx
Dragonmarks: Fragments of Prophecy: Locations where pieces of the Draconic prophecy can be found.
Beyond Kung-Fu: Variant monks based on Buddhist monk, Franciscan Friar, Knight Hospitallar and Shinto monk.
Aztec Mythos IV: Tonatiuh and Xipetotec
Awesome.
