Dragon Age 4 - now The Veilguard

NOOOOO don't kill Fenris! Awful. I didn't realize you could piss him off that much. It's a pity, I was hoping he might be back because he was cool as hell.
I feel like I didn't actually piss him off. I can't remember why he turned against me. I just remember that he did, and I had no choice but to kill him.

Iron Bore I'm less moved by. What a blowhard. I've played DAI twice and tried so hard to get along with him (I loved Sten and even the antagonist Qunari in DA2 was very interesting), but just stop lecturing me already buddy.
I kinda liked Iron Bull, but he was a mercenary, so when he sided with his fellow Qunari and was like "it's nothing personal", I was like, "Fine. I'mma kill you, and it's nothing personal." :P

I've played the three Dragon Age games and I remember enjoying them. But I cannot remember many details from any of the games. My vague impression is that the 2nd game felt like a giant side quest played out on a very limited map. In the third game I repaired a castle. That's pretty much it.

Man his whole "I'm a mercenary" deal was such an absolute line of bollocks. It's like, you are completely transparently a Qunari spy and agent, and you barely even deny it. Just because you also have hired goons who you have crocodile tears about dying, doesn't make you a mercenary, and the very second it actually becomes an issue he's like "Yo I am 100% loyal to the Qunari in all ways", and it's like, some 'mercenary' you are - you're undermining the entire concept!

Not a critique but this is so completely wild to me because the DA series has some of the most vivid (love 'em or hate 'em) characters for me in every single game, and some of the entertaining and least-generic lore of an fantasy series (esp. one with elves, dwarfs, etc.). It's like playing the Mass Effect trilogy and going "I guess there were some spaceships?".

Ok they released a snippet before the trailer tomorrow (22 hours away at time of posting I believe):

That's horrible Twitter video but that already looks a hell of a lot better than the demented character trailer. I see that it kind of looks like our boi Varric is in the party at least a little bit of the time.

Okay, that Varric sounds more like Actual Varric then Trailer faux-Varric.

Thumbs up.

Doesnt he turn against if you try to be sympathetic to the mages leader during the last fight?

I always side with the Mages, because its the obvious One True Way.
