Dragon Subscription - UK

The privacy law mentioned is the data protection laws in the UK, which prohibit the UK distribution company giving Paizo (a US firm) our names and addresses without our express permission (which they don't have).

Therefore Paizo cannot continue to provide the subscription through a different company as they cannot get hold of our details.
So, all we need to know is who is the distributor and send them letters releasing your subscription account information to Paizo.

Or better yet, go the workplace and beat the buggers out of them.

FWIW, I'm sorry you are victims of this UK data protection law that is supposed to protect your private information.

Without the money nothing would help - if Hasbro UK is not giving the money tp Paizo/distributor, than that's the real problem.

Then start banging on Hasbro UK office doors. The more you get on their case, the more they're willing to resolve this since they are still under investigation by the British government's commerce department.

I mean is there some kind of UK version of the Better Business Bureau?

Contact your countries Postal Service and ask how you go about filing a mail fraud complaint. File the complaint against Paizo, Hasbro, and any other party involved in this. Then, contact the US Postal Service and file a separate claim against Paizo.

The potential legal fees and penalties should be an incentive to get this taken care of. Best of all, if the US Postal Inspectors receive enough complaints and go ahead with an investigation, you wouldn't have to pay a thing.

The statutory maximum penalty for mail fraud is five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. The statutory maximum penalty for interstate transportation of money taken by fraud is ten years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.

Mail fraud is no joke in the US and the US Postal Inspectors do their best to shut down companies and individuals who are out to defraud the public.

Why against Paizo?

Unless you actually have some evidence that Paizo is attempting to defraud people, I'll ask you to keep unsupported accusations of criminal activity such as these off these boards.

We must be reading two different posts. I in no way saw tburdett's post as an accusation. I thought he simply was trying to convey to those subscribers the resources available to them.

For those wishing to file a mail fraud complaint against any company please follow the URL below:

I made no accusation whatsoever and it's unfortunate that you jumped to that conclusion.

I simply gave people the information that they need to take action if they felt that it was necessary to do so.

Thank you for providing the link Sirius_Black!

Hi tburdett.

While you are quite correct that you did not directly accuse Paizo or other companies of criminal activity, advising people to take the actions you outlined, is an activity you need to take care with on a public board such as this.

Your statement above could be taken as implying that, etc...

I assume that Morrus is trying to ensure that any posts on a board managed by him dont rebound (in a litigation sense) on him or the boards.

Cheers.

Oh, and yes the situation sucks, and yes Paizo have probably dropped the ball as far as communication goes, and yes there not a lot that can be done other than writing a letter to Paizo and Hasbro UK.

Ok some new development (at least for me) I called my subscribtion office ( Somewhere in Leicester telefone number ist 01858 431190. When I called in January they told me that my magazines will be send out as soon as some administrative trouble was solved. Now I called them again, and they told me they don't do that any longer and the woman on the phone gave me another number: 08457 125599. She said this was Hasbro Customer support. The problem I have: My phone company tells me I can't connect to this number cause its a service number that has extra fees. Can some1 enlighten me plz, what the hell is going on there? I mean its probably only my personal problem, but not being able to be called from the rest of europe probably makes it a lot easier for Hasbro.

Any1 got an idea concerning the next steps?
