Ok.. But I need to know what their coin equivalents are for the 3.5 era campaign setting book...

This whole thing could've been avoided if they would've given us a list of equipment with prices in Dragonlance terms.

Although the actual wealth equivalence between say a silver piece and a steel piece in DL differs from the wealth equivalence between a silver and gold piece in the standard campaign, I'd say it's pretty safe to just use the same prices. A table can be found on page 196 of the DLCS that lists the equivalence among the various coinage on Krynn.

Edit: Whoops, looks like you got to that before I hit post. :)

I know about the coin chart in the DLCS. But doing a character's equipment for the setting is really annoying without a list of weapons & equipment specific to the world.

If it bothers you that much I'd suggest just using the D&D coin values. I don't really think that the essence of Dragonlance is so intrinsic to the use of steel that changing that loses any of the flavor. Then again, I always liked it.

What I'd do is just replace gold with steel and then leave everything else the same. Replace all PHB gp with DL steel and you have an easy conversion and retain most of the flavor of DL.

Unnecessary. All of the weapons and equipment of the Player's Handbook has its place in Dragonlance. You don't need a specific weapon and equipment list.

As for the coin translation issue, you can either double silver piece costs in the Player's Handbook to account for the devaluation of silver pieces compared to the steel "standard", or just go with the "it's like D&D but steel replaces gold".

Cheers,
Cam

I just finished making this pdf of all the equipment and their Dragonlance equivalent values. All the prices where broken down to copper pieces, the only monetary type, and monetary value, that both the Dragonlance campaign setting and the Players Handbook have in common. Every thing was broken down to the copper and rebuilt in the new monetary standards.

enjoy!
