[DragonStar] Tasers

Hey everyone!

Recently (well, several sessions ago at least) my DragonStar group ran faced several opponents while we were armed only with tasers. Very quickly, we discovered these weapons sucked. Royally.

I mean, it was simply a Fortitude save (and a low one too) to avoid being stunned for 1 round. Have these rules been errat'd? Has anyone changed them?

As is, most of us dropped our tasers in disgust and simply attempted to fight hand to hand. We did a lot better too!

Anyway, I was wondering if he messed up, or if effective tasers are simply frowned upon in the Dragon Empire. Later!

hey, Tasers deal 1d6 points of electicity damage (subdual, IIRC) - that is enough for any commoner to break down and make a nice sleep...

Tasers aren`t very powerful against anyone with a good Fortitude Save. But think of a wizard or a sorcerer.

Or combine it with a Two-Gunshooting Rogue - Primary Hand Taser - Stuns, Secondary Hand - Silenced Autopistol - hits with sneak attack...

Besides probably Screamerpistol, Tasers are the only weapons who will do no harm to the hull of a ship. ANd you don`t want to risk a hull breach, do you?
 

Actually the 1d6 is piercing, the stun effect is electricity. But the funny thing is I just realized that we didn't use the 1d6 piercing damage. Not that it is that great.

As a side note, the Fortitude save on the stun is still really low. But thanks for pointing out the damage. :D
