Dread Necro Progression?

First Post
Hey guys ,

I am a Kobold Dread necromancer lvl 5 now

Through some various quests and i am able to channel positive and negative energy via some mysterious inner powers i dont know yet. Meaning i can heal etc.I also obtained the dragonwrought feat without me wanting to..
All the characters in the campaign got something after that certain session.

So since i probably wont be able to become a lich since im a dragon now unless a dracolich ! lol i was wondering should i keep going on with the dread necromancer or pick a prestige class? that might not have been available before since i can channel both positive and negative energy spells? So i have both inflict and cure spells.... can destroy and command undead also

Did your characters type actually change to dragon? Or did you simply gain the draconic subtype? If you are a Humanoid(draconic) then you should still qualify as human for class abilities, spells etc...

I can't imagine a single feat doing all the things that dragon type get....Darkvision, lowlight vision, racial bonuses etc....

No im a dragon now and gain all the benefits.. although its also a drawback for me. Look at the race of the dragon book its explained there its a feat only for kobolds.

Then I recommend asking the DM to take the feat away so you can continue playing the character you wanted to play...If he won't cooperate, then keep playing your character anyways and have fun...knowing that you will have ample opportunity to buy a scroll of polymorph any object, to have yourself changed back to normal or something even better that still qualifies for lich long before you reach 20th level.

The roundabout method is to have a psion manifest psychic reformation on you, which lets you swap out dragonwrought. Alternatively, ask your DM if he can allow the dracolich template to be tacked on instead.

That said, lv20 is a very long way from lv5, and your campaign may not even reach that lv (or at least, you will not play at lv20 long enough for the loss of a lich template to be hard felt). So you can consider prc'ing out at lv8 if you meet the requirements, since the benefits you get after 8th lv start to drop rapidly.

It is obvious that your DM is using a lot of his own house rules. So, actually asking him for allowing a Dracolich instead of Lich can be reasonable and interesting.;)
