Drinking at the Game Table?

It's all good...until somebody (inevitably) spills a brewsky all over your books. :D

I guess it all depends on the tone, mood and atmosphere of the game - Paranoia vs. Dark*Matter, for example.

in ye olde dayes we used to do beer & pretzels. and everyone stayed over. so it was no problem.

but now a days everyone needs to get home for other committments... so the answer is no. we don't drink.

Alcohol is allowed, but it is rare that anyone actually drinks. Even when that 6-pack or so is brought in only a few of us drink and even then its only a beer or two. No one is there to get drunk.

Drinking is allowed, especially if our game is combined with one of our game-related cookouts. We've also sometimes done the "fantasy" thing and offered people some mead or some mulled wine in the winter.

Fortunately, everyone's very responsible so it gets nowhere near out of control. And since 3 of my 4 kids game, I gotta be a good example. ;)

Me, I love having my large Green Lantern glass tumbler filled with Whiskey and Ginger Ale.

It's never really come up. None of us drink except at parties and such, and even then maybe it's one beer. The only people we've dealt with that did otherwise came to the game drunk a couple of times, were unfocused and disruptive, so were asked to leave and only return if they were sober.

We actually had to "sooch-proof" our maps (laminate them) because one of our gamers (Sooch) would ALWAYS spill stuff on the map at some point in the game, whether he's drinking booze or cola.

Absolutely. I would definitely encourage a little relaxant use before getting into a dark and paranoid game of conspiracy and double cross because it allows many players to get more into the feel of the game. So Dark*Matter would be a game for some light drinking, IMO.

It is certainly allowed but it is rare that anyone drinks one. We meet on Thursday nights after work and no one really drinks much knowing that it is a late night and they have to drive home.

It is my house so theoretically I could get loaded but I don't drink too much as is.
