What feats, skills and tactics should I be looking at here.

I am thinking of getting "Two-Fisted Shooter" and running around with purely a Crossbow and Dagger. Crossbow at range and closing (or being closed on) for Dagger.
(this gives me a turn ot two out of damage range to get a couple of free attacks in).

The extra crossbow ranged attack combined with the 15% crit gives me the odd extra attack which I like. Is the extra crossbow attack a special attack that I can use my powers with ?

If I get a second melle weapon say a short sword that gives me extra abilities I could then jump into the frey with Short sword and Dagger. In this case is "Quick Draw" going to be required ?

I'm not to daggermaster yet, but I've given up on the rapier and use my dagger exclusively. Your games may vary, but 10 squares rarely requires movement. I'm saying, I doubt you would use crossbow or sword. Add the daggermaster benefits and I can't imagine a use for another weapon.
Power attack can transfer that accuracy (+3 weapon and +1 dagger tallent) into damage.
Multiclass Ranger would be some nice damage boost for two rounds per day (with errata or one encounter without).
Two weapon feats may also be worth considering.

The Two-Fisted Shooter free attack on a critical is ranged basic atack with the crossbow, so nothing special other than a basic attack.

Rogue Weapon Mastery (Martial Power) gives you high crit with your daggers. Ruthless Hunter (Forgotten Realms Player's Guide) makes the crossbow 1d8 and high crit, making it a bit more damaging than the dagger. If you could get your Con to 15 you can take Steady Shooter (PHB), which lets you deal extra damage with the crossbow.

In general though, your other feats and related options would likely involve grabbing general rogue stuff (backstabber and slaying action are very good) and some of the drow stuff too (merciless killer is a very good feat at paragon tier, especially since you'll be going for combat advantage most of the time).

Disclaimer, I am an artful dodger on my rogue, but yeah, we all just want to stab things till they die as a rogue so..

My feat shopping list

Backstabber - D8 sneak attack dice
Two Fisted Shooter - one handed reload of hand crossbow as free action, free attack if you crit.
Slaying Action - Sneak attack twice with action point
Ruthless Hunter - crossbow D8 and high crit
Drow Fighting style - no OA provoke if hand crossbow in hand with melee weapon in other
Agile Athlete - roll acrobatics or althetics rolls twice, take better roll
Venemous Heritage - resists 5 poison +2 vs poison saves
Dager Sense - Roll initiative twice, keep better
Fleet footed - +1 speed
Master of FIre and darkness - use darkness and darkfire both per encounter
Merciless Killer - +5 damage vs bloodied foes you have CA against

Epic resurgance - regain encounter power on crit
Martial Mastery - regain martial encounter power if you spend action point
Flanking Manuever - move diagonal through hard corners move through enemies
Clutch of Darkness - bigger globe of darkness
Unfettered Stride - ignore difficult terrain

Devestating Critical - +1d10 on crits as a daggermaster it's very nice too
Blood Thirst - +2 damage to bloodied foes, stacks wtih merciless killer.

that's 18 there, I'm sure I'll want others too but I think that may be my set of 18 by 30.

Whirlwind sneak attack looks kinda sexy too, combined with Martial mastery if you move first run up, aoe blast sneak attack a group, action point and do it again with the same power. sneak attacking everyone twice in one turn. and if you crit on anyone during all this, regain hte use of the encounter power you used to do it wtih again.

Thats quite an impressive attack in one turn.
