D&D 5E Druid- Circle of Lycanthrope

gyor

Legend
Does anyone remember the Druid kit in Baldur's Gate 2 where instead of turning into an animal you turned into a werewolf or greater werewolf?

Does anyone else want to see a Circle of the Lycanthrope where they turn into a Werewolf, or Werecat, or Wereboar or Wereboar depending on which one you choose when you join the circle of the lycanthrpes?

In my actual campaign, I decided that werebeasts are druids cursed in a far past by a Moon goddess. I do not work the specifics yet, but this is the basic idea.

They already have a circle of the moon which is why I called it Circle of the Lycanthrope.

The Circle of the moon focuses on varsitility of forms, while the circle of the Lycanthrope specializes in a single Lycanthrope form that gets more powerful over time.

I've had the same feelings about how to implement werewolves, because one of my players wants to play a werewolf. I really hope that they release something along those lines, but different than just the Circle of Moon. My player actually decided against becoming a druid to be his werewolf character, and opted to play a barbarian with his rage re-skinned as turning into his werewolf form. He thought it fit much better since it didn't turn him into an actual wolf but a wolf-man amalgam, and it was a way to forgo the entire casting portion of the class since magic didn't fit his character idea.
