Druid Help Please

We have also used Holly and juniper berries and the like as the spell does not suggest that they have to be edible berries.

I like the acorn idea. Especially, if you think of the spell as effecting the seed delivery system. I can't wait to start making Good Pinecones and the like.

I can see me explaining to my companion dwarf, "Eat the pinecone and you will be healed."
He replies, "Eat my fist and cast it on something else."

Was quite a change playing a character who could not effectively enter melee (although I was forced to a few times). Everything in our campaign seems to come down to melee, and, rather than see me (out of spells) stand back and let me wolf fight, they expected me to get in toe to toe with Orcs wielding Greataxes

Ouch. Well, later pick up flame blade as a backup spell. Damage isn't that great but the touch attack aspect tends to offset your lower BAB and the elemental damage bypasses DR. The regenerate X wound spells are good for when you *know* you're heading into a fight.

Go for a sling and use it. Damage should be comparable to your hand-held weapons and keeps you out of range. See if your DM will allow the staff sling (a sling on the end of a stick). Was in 2e, we've converted it over. It's rate of fire is Xbow like (move eq to load, attack to launch) but IIRC we tripled the sling's range.

Assuming you have MotW, check the Spikes spell (name?). There's 2 versions; one lasts 1 rnd/level and makes the weapon +1 to hit and +1/caster level damage, the other lasts 1 hr/level makes the weapon +2 to hit and +1/level damage. Just a lot of whomping right there.
