John isn't about to put his life in danger of being tore into by the little dragon wannabe. But, this thing is not going to leave the horse alone and that coul get dangerous, so he slide off the horse and tries to blast the creepy little piece of * * * * with a power of the staff. [scorching ray]

Grok strikes out at the kobold that swung at him, hitting the creature full on the solar plexus. The kobold facing Scrag was having a very bad time of it so far, but the fanatic still figured he'd give it a go once more, but he just nicked the troll.
