Dumb Fighter's Weapon Talent Question

So here's what could be a dumb question, but one I have to ask.

Does a Fighter get the +1 bonus to hit for their Weapon Talent with ranged weapons?

RAW - Yes
RAI - Probably not

However, Its not game breaking, and fighters seldom use 2 handed ranged weapons (as they are not 'heavy thrown') so really I see no reason not to let a fighter apply the bonus.

why wouldn't that be the RAI? Weapons, even ranged weapons, are listed as either 1 handed or 2 handed, which fits with the bonus fighters get...
