Is this a "Return to Maure Castle"? In other words, does it take the Maure Castle adventure and put it in the current 592 C.Y. Greyhawk timeline or does it not really address the fact that time has past and that the adventurers in WG5 have plundered it?

Finally, that Map is something fans of Greyhawk have been waiting for since the F'n Realms got the map treatment in Dragon back in 2001.

What issues are they in? I am not subscribed and never knew that they ever existed.

Dragon 287, 288, 289, 190 have large fold out maps of the Forgotten realms, each one roughly equal to 8 pages of letter size paper (4 fold?).

Dragon 285 has a poster map of Homlet roughly 4 pages of letter sized (2 fold?)

Dragon 286 has a poster map of Shannara (Terry Brooks fictional setting) roughly 4 pages of letter sized paper as well....

Is it cheaper for a company like Paizo to produce these maps than a company like WotC? Could Paizo be the "supplier" for maps that're not cost-effective for WotC, thus sating our CRAVING for gigantic maps? :D

Well, the ads say something abut '30 years later', so I would assume so, but it's a good question.

Anyone want to post the plot? with spoiler tags of course.

Olive, this is from memory, so forgive me if it's not all that detailed.

MAJOR SPOILERS! for Mordenkainens Fantastic Adventure.

So Mordenkainen and friends (Bigby, Rigby, and uh, someone else) hear about this castle with a set of 'Unopenable Doors', beyond which are various eeeeeeeevil things and, of course, treasure. Fortunately, the Big M has some sort of hyped up Chime of Opening that lets him get past the castle's first major challenge without raising a finger or using any of his Int 26... but I digress.

The first level of the dungeon is filled with all sorts of fiendish 1e traps, things like a room that compels you to put your magic items in a hole where they are crushed into dust with no save allowed... oh yeah, those were the days, when men were men and DMs were mean b*stards. There's a fountain filled with evil, fiery piranhas; a fresco room where the pictures of warriors animate and attack; and of course a really bad-ass Iron Golem with several unique abilities, who is invulnerable to pretty much everything. Except the obscure thing(s) that can kill him.

The second level of the dungeon has a ton of underlings... low-level wizards, undead, etc. Can't really remember much about that.

Ah, but the third level. Now the PCs get to confort Eli Tomarast, the eeeevil mastermind, and his pet demon, Kerzit. Eli has grafted some really icky appendages to himself and will use them in combat with the PCs. He's also a spellcaster of considerable power.

Kerzit the demon has like 6 melee attacks and various spell-like abilities. He's guarding some sort of artifact. And, uh, Mord. & friends kill him and take his stuff.

That's pretty much it: an insanely deadly dungeon crawl, livened up by the unique foes and sick'n'twisted traps. The story goes that Gygax has said that Maure Castle came the closest to killing Mordenkainen of any adventure. So you probably shouldn't inflict it upon your players' beloved PCs without fair warning.

I'm sure some other old-timers can contribute other tidbits.
