Dungeon #112 has arrived

I'm doing everything in my power to summon some more FR modules. Just put the finishing touches on the one for 113 this afternoon, and will try to have another within the next few issues. I'm planning for something "big" in that regard, but it's too early to discuss in public, yet.

I'm not satisfied by the number of FR modules we've had in the magazine lately. I think it's reasonable to expect one every three or four issues, but I inherited a submission pile with one FR adventure in it, so it may take us a while to collect an adequate number of adventures to match that pace.

Cool I mentioned your post over at Candlekeep

http://www.candlekeep.com./forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=5

How much experience do you need to have to be published in Dungeon Erik?

As an aside: since I'm not previously familiar with WG5:MFA, are there any elements of canon that would make a useful or fun tie-in with Maure Castle and the Slave Lords/Turrosh Mak/Cult of the Earth Dragon?[/QUOTE]

Isnt there an agent of the slavers in hardby (gormadoc?). Hardby isnt far at all from Maure Castle. Perhaps the PCs go to tie up some loose ends, like the slavers spy in Hardby. Here Gormadoc either offers the information about maure castle and how to circumvent the unopenable doors OR in the original Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure, one of the big baddies below Maure was kidnapping people of the villages outside Hardby -- rescue the kidnapped could be a lead in.

Yep, and for the sharp-eyed, Gormadoc originally appeared in the 1e Rogues Gallery product (he was a PC of Greg Fleming, who also contributed some illustrations to the original printing of the 1e DMG). When Sean Reynolds added him as an agent of the Slave Lords, I chortled with gleeful recognition :D

Or perhaps he deceives the PCs into thinking that the slavers are financed by nobles based in the Castle, in the hopes that they'll wander into something that turns them into hamburger (so that he can return to counting profits of selling slaves, of course) :evil :D

I forgot "Tome of Horrors already revised (insert monster name here)" Some of us don't own ToH, and some of us aren't actually interested in first edition feel. Sorry to be bitter, but I see a lot of complaining on these boards about perfectly acceptable things, and this just felt like absolute hypocrisy to me. I know it's Gygax, I know it's from the Fantastic Adventure, but I just wanted to point it out.

hmm, maybe i should have made this post on this thread instead. ;)

Not to thread hijack, but I feel I must get this off my chest. I bought my Dungeon subscription BECAUSE of the Polyhedron tie-in.

In light of the decision to not have any Polyhedron material anymore, the magazine is essentially useless to me. I know you're just following the greater group of people (the ones that hating 'losing' space to something non-fantasy), but I feel I must speak out as one of the group that enjoyed the Polyhedron side of things.

I have no desire for more fantasy, but apparently there are not enough people like myself to make enough money at it.

Nothing against you personally Erik, but I cannot in good conscience renew my subscription once it is due.

Official updated stats for the Shoosuva???? Really???

I (for some reason that is admittedly way beyond even myself) really like the gnolls, and shoosuvas were a nice thing to add to the possibilities surrounding them. Made a couple of goes at converting it myself, but I never liked any idea I had on how to convert the creeping paralysis power. And the creeping paralysis thing was my favorite part of the critter. I know, actually less powerful than what a ghoul or ghast does, but the creeping aspect makes it ... creepier?

Must have just for that.

You know, Krael, we spent a huge amount of time discussing this recently over in this thread. Why don't you go over there, instead.

Bye!

Doh!

I looked back a few pages, but obviously I didn't look back far enough....

Just ignore my ramblings ;)
