Dungeon #112 has arrived

OK, I edited the first post to give a little more info on hthe adventure.
And, yes, the old article is almost worth the price alone. Gary describes a bit of an adventure that he played in. It is the adventure that has been updated for 3.5 and fills the rest of this issue.

Arrrggghhh.... Issue #111 only came into Ballarat earlier this week.
I just got #111 here in New Hampshire a few days ago as well. Looking forward to seeing #112 and hope it arrives soon. I've always liked Gary's modules.

Whats in 113?
No preview of #113 in this issue, only a brief mention in the editorial that next issue will be back to the normal format. Also, no mail page.
BTW, the cover by Wayne Reynolds is a revisit to the cover of "Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure."

I just got #111 a week or so ago! Once again, my FLGS has the new issue before I--a subscriber--get it. It is so much to ask that subscribers get their copies first?

The monsters are
Demon, Colchiln
Demon, Kerzit the Guardian
Demon, Nabassu
Hetfish - a tiny magical beast
Maurid - magical beast template
Shoosuva - large undead
Slow Shadow - medium outsider
Tyrg - large magical beast

Looking forward to those, especially big K, the hetfish, and the Tyrgs.

"Kerzit the Mighty,
Kerzit the Strong,
KERZIT! KERZIT!! KERZIT!!!"

You know, with me going around spouting stuff like this, I think I may have figured out the whole "devil-worshipping" thing...

There's but one thing about this magazaine that makes me want to buy it.

The fact that the NABASSU has finally been converted to 3.5!!! About freakin' time!

Maure Castle is better known as part of a module called "Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure", published years back. It was one of the few places where Mordenkainen ALMOST met his end. Gary said the second level of the published adventure way back when is pure fabrication; he only got through the first level, and (I think) Rob gave him some notes, but I don't think it was ever completely designed.

That's not quite correct Henry: Rob wrote the entire WG5, which was three levels as published (and before publication of course). Gary added some bits in the introductory matter, including the eight-pointed star.

The appeal of this issue to old-timers like myself is two-fold:

1) Gary's article
2) An updated, 3E version of Maure Castle, with its unique denizens, their little society they live in, and the bizarre creatures, traps, and secrets underneath it.

I agree with the above, and add:

3) A new fourth level for the Maure Castle environs, which Rob created especially for this issue. He also built in a lot of room for many more levels of expansion, so that if issue 112 proves to be a good seller for Dungeon, more levels of Maure may be unveiled in time!

Finally, that Map is something fans of Greyhawk have been waiting for since the F'n Realms got the map treatment in Dragon back in 2001.

In all, some major goodness to look ahead to.

Hear hear! :D
