Dungeon 149

War of The Wielded (1st-5th): This is why I read these magazines! Just for the idea of sentient magical weapons crafted for a war that ended centuries ago, manipulating their weilders to continune the battle.

You know, usually I didn't buy Dungeon, because the number of adventures I could actually use was pretty small. This, however, I might have to look at...

And, at least technically, the least, lesser and greater guardian "yugoloths", I think?

Totally forgot about those. It'd be nice to see Guardian Yugoloths make a return. Heck, last I remember, they were purposefully created by the yugoloths for mortals to summon so it'd be a great resource for both DMs and Players :D

Okay, I just read Wolfgang Baur's "Enemy of My Enemy," and I'm awed by some of the flavor. You actually speak with raw essences of the multiverse, iconic entities almost more primal than gods, and in the hearts of their realm.

Way to go, and way to use the mythology of D&D for some amazing scenes.

Oh nice!

Still waiting on mine. I hate the wait...it's mind-numbing!

Bought mine. Very good stuff, especially Enemies of my Enemies. Orcus looked the way I wanted him too look. Good job James and the art department!

War of the Wielded has some NICE flavor.

Wasn't too sold on the FR adventure but then again, it's only in the Moonshaes. I admit it, not my favorite part of the Realms.

Now I just have to wait on Dragon 358. Or at least wait for someone else to get it...

CW Wandering Monster - The Black Willow, CR 10 plant monster from 1e MMII. Congrats Boz and Shade on another conversion!

great, you're welcome! :) i haven't had a chance to see the mag yet (here's hoping it's at home tonight) - how is it looking?

That, and Orcus isn't wearing pants in the illos anyway, so it's all good.

well, that sounds like a fun time! :)

We got there first in the Bestiary of Krynn, which features the very same black willow from MMII. Of course, ours is CR 13.

well, goodie for you. :p

My copy arrived last night. Let me just say WOW!

This has to be one of the top 10 issues ever.

First, I loved the editorial (and James once more working in the lack of Large crocodile). :D

It was great to see the verbeeg return (a bit hidden within "Twisted Night").

"Enemy of My Enemies" simply blew me away. Even without the fantastic adventure, it was amazing to see the return of Iggwilv and Charon, as well as the incredibly interesting new unique demons. The stygian linnorm was fantastic as well. Wulfgang Baur really outdid himself on this one. As a fan of high-level play and Planescape, this one delivered on all fronts.

Ohh they snuck the 3.5E stats of the Verbeeg Giant in there? What an interesting twist. Hidden you say? Hmm...

I want to get my copy more than ever now.
