Dungeon #150

maybe she rolled 3 sets of 2 on her hitpoints? Remember she looked a wee slip of girl so no con bonus?

Pretty sure she hadnt fought him up to that point?

so he MM her for 7 and she dies (as one does at 0 hp in D&D)

look forward to his return.

No luck finding this at the mall today (45 minute drive, blech!), but I did grab #149! :D

Can't wait to get my hands on #150 for all its content. My favorite gem in there, though, will be another 3.5E updated yugoloth to add to the ranks of my campaign. :D

Thanks again Shemmy!

The End for Dungeon and Dragon

So a NEW PRINCE OF DEMONS may emerge from the last issue of Dungeon?
I hope it is not Orcus or Graz'zt. Demogorgon rules!!!!

Anyway, with the end of both Dungeon and Dragon magazines, it makes less of an incentive for me to pay a visit to my local hobby store....one of the main reason I go there is to pick up the latest issue, and see what's around or interesting that I might also pick up.

No doubt scores of others visit their hobby shop for the same reason I do.

It seems ending these two mags will have far-reaching consequences that WOTC haven't thought about.

Well, OK ... but if the electronic magazine format fails, we shouldn't expect the print magazine to return. The modern print magazine business is much, much more expensive to start up in today than it was in 1976, and if Wizards were to try to resume print operations a year from now, that's what they would be regarded as: a new magazine.
You forget one thing. They only sell Dragon and Dungeon in book stores and hobby stores. Anyone who solicits their books could easily be bribed to take the magazine too. It's not like Dragon or Dungeon had any penetration into newsstands in train stations or city street corners. Restarting the magazines is not as hard as you might think. Wait a few years.

Indeed, a fantastic final issue, and a magnificent end to the best of the three Adventure Paths to date. :)

I have only one tiny, itty-bitty complaint about the final adventure. [sblock]Specifically, I was hoping for at least a little about what Demogorgon becomes if the Savage Tide is not stopped. How does he change if Hethradiah succeeds in absorbing his "brother"? What does he become physically? What does he become mentally? What are the repurcussions of a new, non-schizo Demogorgon?[/sblock]

Sure, I can decide for myself, but I'd love to know what James et al. would have done with it.

Mine arrived today and immediately sparked a great campaign idea.

*sniff*

RIP, Dungeon. You'll be missed.

:(

And kudos to the Paizo team, for pulling together the best value in gaming, month after month, and bringing me hours of enjoyment. You should be proud. It's been a tremendous pleaure gaming with you. :D

Now knock my socks off with Pathfinder! ;)

Darn I want mine so bad.

Question for those that have it, I'd like to be spoiled (of course, cover it with /spoiler so others don't get screwed) but what happens at the end? I am assuming you beat Demogorgon and then what? He's not killed off is he? Just captured or bound or something I hope or just running back home with his tail cut off (possibly literally speaking) and it'd take him centuries to ever plan something like this again?

Actually, thousands of copies of each magazine were distributed to newsstands, train stations, and the like. "Bribe" is the right word, here, though, because it's going to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to get the magazine as well distributed as it is now. In bribes, basically, although in the magazine industry they call them "promotions" and "authorizations."

All of Dragon and Dungeon's existing authorizations expire in about six months.

I hope somone re-starts a print edition of these magazines. Frankly, I expect someone _will_ re-start them eventually. But it's going to be considerably more difficult--and more expensive--than simply calling up a few bookstores and asking them nicely to restock the magazine.

Found an error in the Index (just at a glance). "Tensions Rising" is missing from the Eberron adventure list.

Not too surprising given the size and scope of the index.

Was she full health when it hit her? He could've bashed her around for fun for awhile and then later, before she was fully healed, got smacked by the magic missile?

Aleena and the warrior had just fought a group of skeletons, IIRC. I don't remember her getting injured (she used a heal spell on the warrior and turned the skeletons), but maybe she got hurt.

Or low Constitution score and bad rolls? And Bargle got a max on his magic missile roll?

(Actually, I think the best solution is to just assume the warrior was too stupid to realize Aleena was merely in a deeply comatose state, considering that she's alive in the Gazetteers at a later point in her personal history- high level cleric in Gaz1).
