I've just read through the adventure. There's some great encounters, good advice on using the adventure, and suchlike... but it's somewhat monotonously one combat after another. You're looking at a dungeoncrawl here with more meaning as you add to it.

Ok for a once-off. I hope later epic adventures are more distinctive.

Cheers!

Sebaceans are large, Far Realms influenced wasp/ant men who breed mutant insect-ape crosses. Kind of like the Far Realms version of a Formorian. I found em kind of unoriginal myself, honestly.

Yeah, after reading the first few encounters, its clearly meant to be used as an introductory epic adventure.

A 21st level dungeoncrawl? Sounds rather disappointing. I like combat, but introducing the Epic tier should be about more than that.

Oh well. It's not like I subscribe :D

Uhm, I thought that was part of 4e's goal to "stretch the sweet spot" of 3E's levels 3-14. ;) Your characters don't "outgrow the dungeon", rather go from underground dungeons in heroic, to the underdark/shadowfell/feywild at paragon and then delve into extraplanar labyrinths in epic.

Well, how many epic adventures have they written so far?

Sounds like an umber hulk and/or a dimensional shambler ;)
Shuffling toward him in the darkness was the gigantic, blasphemous form of a black thing not wholly ape and not wholly insect. Its hide hung loosely upon its frame, and its rugose, dead-eyed rudiment of a head swayed drunkenly from side to side. Its forepaws were extended, with talons spread wide, and its whole body was taut with murderous malignity despite its utter lack of facial expression.

Anybody care to give a monster tally list? ;)
