Dungeon Crawl -- Ideas Wanted --

As tribute to my favorite RPG console game, Final Fantasy, here are some suggestions:

* A golem/elemental guarding a passageway who demands a ruby to allow passage. If the PCs supply him with one... he eats it. Then lets them pass.

* A vampire hidden away in the dungeon. If you have the rules, make him half-elemental, or genasi, to fit the theme.

* The Big Bad could be a lich with some magic item that allows him control over earth elementals. Or simply one of your more powerful elemental creatures with an illusion of a lich on it. That'll confuse 'em. :)

Also, if you have the Monster Manual 2, throw a few Stone Spikes at 'em. You can get miniatures of those for cheap now. :D

You could have something that was buried, long ago, but dug up again by accident. Something with no relation to the rest of the dungeon. Just to make things interesting...

Or animated dinosaur skeletons. That would be cool and vaguely feasible, if the dungeon delves deep enough. Big skeletons can be fun...

I had an idea for an adventure set in the Scarred Lands where during the Gods' War one of the axe swings of one of the titans (can remember the name) inadvertantly cut through the lair of a venerable dragon and the dragon itself, killing it instantly.

The blood of the dragon and the little bits of blood from the god vs titan battle mingled and the spiders that lived there mutated from the "essence" of the bloods to make a whole host of spider type creatures (all different sizes, most intelligent, some psionic, etc).

Oh boy. I hope my DM isn't reading this thread.
