That is the current party line. (Along with the they saved each other equally version)

It remains completely at odds with the old party line.

Because you know they are really just attempting to screw you personally.

Here we go again.
That was my reaction when I saw this thread title, remembering I believe four almost identical threads with the prior 4 issues. Personally, I wasn't that thrilled with the content #101, but since it is the FIRST of the past FIVE issues that nothing immediately jumped out at me as something for my campaign I'm okay with that. I still feel the magazine is a great value for the money.

And my thought for the non-subscribers is real simple - SUBSCRIBE. If you are picking up the majority of the issues anyway you'll save money in the long run and have a more complete collection.

Exactly. They do this sort of thing all the time. The only reason WoTC decided to do a revision to because they knew that I would think that a revision is entirely unnecessary and, in many ways, very poorly executed, but that I would be forced to buy the revision because otherwise I'd never get to play D&D again ever.

Disclaimer: Only some of the preceding statement is factual.

I know all about the other threads, when do you think they will listen to the consumer?

Ah, sorry - I thought perhaps you missed them. I am by no means critical of you stating your opinions and criticisms.

I am not as down on Dungeon as you, but I am a subscriber. I think their strategy is an interesting one, I'm still trying to decide if I will re-up my subscription... Sadly, it will depend if the bonuses to subscribers continue to be solid. Another blow against FLGSs I suppose. I will say this though - I buy a lot of adventures and Dungeon adventures remain at the top of the pile. Having said that, I am leaning towards renewing.

I just wish there was more Dungeon but I accept their "company line." Certainly they are in business to make $, and you are free to vote with your wallet. Every decision they make is based on the bottom line, which means pleasing as many people as possible. They certainly would not alienate folks on purpose.

A slight caveat -
I do think they hope to slightly annoy people who buy the magazine at the news stand enough to subscribe. Sounds like it backfired in your case.

There was one useful thing in issue 101, the combat matrix.

If you mean "useful" as in "waste of my time and energy removing it from the magazine so that I could toss the combat matrix aside for my children to scribble on," then I'm in complete agreement. :D

Which one of us should they listen to, you or me? Because I'm quite happy with the current combined magazine.

I like Dungeon/Poly

I'm happy with the magazine as is too.

I just don't enjoy the way Paizo deals with criticism. They are too much like me in that regard. So we clash. lol

Peace and smiles :)

Its an excercise in bundling. Bundling can't work unless the addition of one magazine or the other adds value for the majority of customers. Now, who are they unfairly screwing over by doing this?
