Dungeon Mag's Creature "token" inserts?

Maybe "token" isn't the best word, but you get what I'm talking about right? That little piece of thing cardboard that has a bunch of monsters on it to cut out and use as miniatures.

Anyway...

Can you get them anywhere online? Anybody scanned them?

I've found that if you glue them to a penny (or something similar) they a quiet effective. Especially if they are numbered.

In our last game, I glued a square, numbered, piece of paper to several pennies to represent Zhent soldiers. It worked great!

They are actually easier to track and spot than mini's are.

I think this has been brought up before, but I think you can xerox them for your own personal use, but I don't think WOTC wants anyone to post them for free. Copyright, and all. It would be bad.

However, I am a big fan of counters. A nice, cheap, convenient alt to minis. If the ones out of Dungeon Mag don't have everything you need, you can look into the Counter Collection by Sword and Sorcery Studios, or try http://www.dragonscalecounters.com/(pricy, but more durable).

Me, I made a whole bunch of my own with CC2 Character Artist. Half-inch scale; nice and handy. CC2 ain't cheap, tho. Steep learning curve, too.

Hey droogie, care to share those? Do you have them in PDF, etc.? Might be a good add / electronic aid....

For the best "bang for your buck", you should really try the Counter Collections and Counter Packs (by me :D through Fiery Dragon Productions).

You get over 400 counters for a pretty low price, with tons of variety (Counter Collection 2 had 75 unique PC counters, dragons of several sizes; Counter Collection 1 had all the basics in large numbers, so you get 20 orcs, 15 skeletons, 5 trolls...). The recent-released Counter Pack 1: Demons & Devils had over 300 counters of every fiend in the Monster Manual, plus several creatures from Green Ronin's Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss. At GenCon FDP will release Counter Pack 2: Tribes, Clans & Cults, which features complete tribes for goblins, hobgoblins, a demon-worshipping cult, an orc elite group (akin to the uruk-hai), an undead legion (almost all undead from the MM). Counter Pack 3: Denizens of Darkness & Dungeons, to be released in September, will have more drow, duergar, illithids, kuo-toas and troglodytes than you can shake a mini at... :)

Game On!

You can make the counters stand ups by jamming them into wine corks.
And since my wife and I are big winos and we neurotically save every cork from every bottle of wine we drink, we have zillions.

That's really confusing - why did Firey Dragon decide to have both Counter Collections and Counter Packs?

I had thought there were only two of these. Now I'm confused.

Why not just number them 1, 2, 3, 4, etc?

Hmmm. The thought had crossed my mind, but I wondered what Profantasy software would think. I suppose if I didn't sell the things everything would be fine, yes?

I'll have to experiment to see if its possible.

Meepo, I can answer that: If you are a freak like me, you bought multiple counter collections, and numbered them at higher numbers. (I have for instance 30 goblins, not 15 - and getting two sets both numbered 1 through 15 would have been too confusing.

Klaus, I meant to post on this earlier, but I LOVE the counter collection! For the first time in a long time, there was no confusion in a mass battle over which enemy had which total of hit points! THANKS! :)
