Hello there. First time posting on these forums but I have been reading them for awhile.
Here is my question:
Will this tank build work? Keep In mind I am not trying to taunt anything.....just be really hard to kill.
Dwarf Ranger1/ Fighter4/ Deepwarden 2
Feats would be:
-Improved toughness
-Steadfast Determination
-Endurance
-Lightning Reflexes
-Sheild Specialization
-Improved Init.
With these feats and the class selections It looks like to me that by lvl 7 I will have a:
7 reflex save(including Dex, and lightning reflexes feat)
11 fort (inclusing Con, assuming I roll a high stat for my Con score)
8 will save (including Dwarf racial, Class will save, and steadfast determination)
The only reason I took ranger was mainly for the +2 reflex save at first level. I know I lose a bonus feat and the hp loss. But I gain +2 refelx save, 6+2x4 skill points vs 2+2x4 for a fighter. Also I get a favored enemy with which I decided to take the arcane hunter character option so my favored enemy is anything that casts arcane spells.
As for the 2 lvls of deepwarden, I was looking at those for the 2nd lvl deepwarden feat of Stonewarden that allows you to replace your Dex bonus to armor with your Con bonus. I was doing this thinking that once I get this feat I could drop the full plate ad pick up a mithril chain shirt. That would allow me to max out my Con bonus to armor and inturn give me a little extra armor total in the process as well as greatly decreasing my armor check penalty.
So Con would by far be my best friend since it adds to armor class with the deepwarden ability and replaces my Wis with Con for steadfast Determination for will saves.
Please let me know what you think and also please give any input. I am looking into Dwarven Defender at level 10 as well but my main focus is these first 7 levels. Also I am sorry for any lame spelling mistakes ><
