Dwarfs Using Explosives

What DnD skill would you use for the Making and Use of Explosives? I'm creating a Dwarf Seige Engineer

For use I was thinking of porting in a Demolitions Skill as per Spycraft, or would Profession:Explosives do the trick?

Also would you required both Craft: Explosives (for making of ~) and Prof: Explosives (for use of ~)?

Profession: Siege Engineer to use. The same skill that's needed to use a balista, etc properly.

Craft: Alchemy to make, I'd say. I would personally remove the silly you-must-be-a-spellcaster requirement, also.

Looking at my 3.0 DMG, they've got suggestions for Renaissance Weapons on p. 162-163. Grenadelike weapons (explosive bomb, smokebomb) require no proficiency to use. I'd say Craft (Renaissance Grenadelike Weapons) [or call it Craft (bombs), if you prefer], with pretty high DCs, would be the best fit with the existing skill system.

If I needed more detail, I'd turn to the d20 Modern SRD and use the skills "Craft (chemical)" and "Demolitions".

I've ruled that Dwarves already know explosives. It's in with mining. On the other hand, spark is a cantrip. There's a reason the dwarves hate mages.
