Oath of Stone and Steel
At the Passing of King Thorrek Ironshield

By Moradin's hammer,
our King has returned to the stone,
where all dwarves shall one day rest,
in halls carved deep beneath the world.

Thorrek, son of the Ironshield clan,
your deeds are etched upon the living rock,
your courage a forge-fire that shall never cool.
From the first strike of your hammer,
to the last clash of your shield,
you stood as the mountain stands:
unyielding, enduring, eternal.

Great Dumathoin, Keeper of Secrets,
guide him now through the Veins of the Earth,
into caverns yet unseen,
where the treasures of our ancestors gleam in the dark.
Let his soul shine among the gems,
his spirit polished like the finest adamantine.

To Haela, Lady of the Fray,
we offer our grief as tribute,
for our King fell not in vain,
but with blade high and shield strong,
as a dwarf should,
in the unending battle for our kin.

Hear now our hammers upon the anvils,
our song rising like the smoke of the forges.
We mourn not,
for he returns to the All-Father's hearth,
where every king and warrior sits
in the Great Hall beyond this world.

Stone to stone, iron to iron,
Thorrek’s spirit endures in the Deep.
By the will of Moradin,
by the grace of Clangeddin,
by the secrets of Dumathoin,
may his name be carved forever
into the heart of our people.
