Dwarven Waraxe - 1 or 2 handed?

It would make the best sense if treated like Mr. Binx says - as a "hand and a half" weapon (medium x 1.5). That way, you can simply say that with the feat you can round down, and without the feat you round up.

But the dwarven war-axe is considered a medium-sized martial weapon (when used 2-handed)... couldnt a small character use it with 2-hands anyways without the feat?

No, because it is only a martial weapon for a medium-sized (or larger) character.

Waraxe, Dwarven: A dwarven waraxe is too large to use in one hand without special training; thus, it is an exotic weapon. A Medium-size character can use a dwarven waraxe two-handed as a martial weapon, or a Large creature can use it one-handed in the same way.

Sorry, I meant two handed with the feat. Not without. I was also agreeing with the entire thread that said I could. I thought yours said they could too.

Whether a small sized character can use a bastard sword (or the like) two-handed with the feat is questionaery at best, but rules are silent on this matter.

Incorrect. There are no rules prohibiting the use of a bastard sword by a Small character. The fact that Medium-size characters *may* use the bastard sword as a Martial weapon has no bearing on Small characters using it as an Exotic weapon.

(As a personal note, I think the rules on bastard sword/dwarven waraxe/etc. should be revised to say: "This weapon may be used as a Martial weapon one size larger." This would eliminate all confusion...)

The PHB says it is a medium weapon, so I don't know what you are unsure about.
