Yeah, but if they wear a chain shirt only they CAN be encumbered 
I am not calling this 'broken' or raging about wanting errata. I AM house ruling. Just thought I would point out for others, that it is a very odd situation where armor can encumber the dwarf if you use encumbrance at all. Which is not in the spirit of the dwarf or the purpose of a rule like it has. For some reason people have pointed out what the idea of this rule is for. I understand the initial rule (and really like that about dwarves), I was just pointing out the odd situation where it doesn't apply (when it should). But yes, silly me for using Variant rules
Anyway, as stated a few times, at our table we have rewritten Sturdy to account for this. Our dwarves are fine now. Just hope others that use encumbrance are aware of the uselessness of what is written under dwarf.
