D&D 5E Dwimmermount [IC]

As the group prepares to head back to camp, Shara pauses a moment, looking into the dense forest. She was feeling worse than she had that morning, and if they ran into danger on the way back, she'd be useless to her companions.

She puts a hand over her heart, closes her eyes, and says a quiet prayer to Pelor. Instantly the sickness begins to dissipate, like fog burning away beneath a bright sun.

OOC: Just gonna go ahead and take care of this (with Lesser Restoration) and then I think we're all good to go back to camp.

Shara's divine power remove the lingering affects that the poisonous gases had been having on her as the heroes turn back to their camp for the day. As they do they all hear an loud crash and then a strangely haunting animal cry from the woods. The cry sounded like the animal was in great pain but it quickly fades to a dull moaning... whatever it is it is no more then a hundred feet within thick foliage.

Hunter Brightwood

"Agreed," Hunter said with a look of concern, "but we should move quickly, whatever that was doesn't sound like it has much time left."

Moving as quietly as they can the heroes head into the trees to see what made the noise. The going is slow as the underbrush is thick in this part of the forest and shattered blackberry thorn bushes that snag into your hair and clothing if not careful. After about a hundred feet past the trail the heroes spot something large lying on the ground and breathing shallowly. Getting a closer look it is a very large woods bear... the creature would probably stand at least ten feet tall if it were and most weigh a good eight hundred pounds. There is a large gash in its side with a large pool of blood nearby. It appears the creature was wounded somehow and then fled crashed through the woods to finally collapse here. There are two small bear clubs sniffing the larger one and making sad moaning noises. Just as the heroes have taken the scene in a terrifying shrieking like howl cryings out from deeper in the woods and then something large starts crashing slowly towards you. The cubs start whimpering louder and try to nudge the large one, which simply lets out of last deep breath and then goes silent...

"Should we heal the thing? Maybe it will help? Either way we don't have much time."
Lucious says, readying to ambush the monstrosity closing in.

Shara is already hurrying forward as Lucious asks his question. She quickly kneels and lays hands on the bear, trying to concentrate despite whatever's crashing towards them.

OOC: If it's not too late, Shara will use a 1st-level Cure Wounds on the bear.

"Alright! We're doing this!"
Lucious says, moving to place himself between the incoming danger and Shara. He summons his Halbred and prepares for the creature.

OOC: taking the dodge action
