Waiting down the hallway, your mother looks out the window. "I fear to ask if you found anything. But I can feel the frost on my heart, and know you did. I guess it was always there for you to find>"

I approach her with a nod and grim smile. "I suppose so. I did not expect to find this... What do you make of it? A bone needle with a chill touch to it. Pale and cold... Like me."

"I have no idea. It is nothing of mine. Though I guess it was put there to be found by you. I fear you might need to seek someone far more wise then myself. "

 

[Time_Feather]

"Then I will seek them out in journey to the Duke. I don't doubt some court mage or skilled wizard in the lands between us and there. I will be cautious though - no need to just share this willy-nilly. Regardless... Thank you, mother." I embrace her tightly, lingering for a moment to look down at her. "I'm going to miss everyone. But I will be back before you all know it."
