I hope the testers are doing everything they can to abuse the patch, report any glitche or error, fix it, and pass with flying colors. You got a mob of frustrated e-Tools owners out there, especially future e-Tools owners that are waiting to see if there is an improvement over the initial release version.

Anthony(Zulkir), Thanks for the info. I have a question. I am one of the very first to buy(support) E-Tools, and my copy is slightly different than later releases. There have been rumors that WotC might require folks like me to send in our original CD's for exchange before we can use the patch. Since its possible to have the patch made to work on either version of the program released its my hope that this rumor is untrue. Becuase if true it seems wrong to make those who were first to support ET have to go through that wait / trouble to be able to finaly use the patch.

So can you tell us once and for all.. Will ALL users no matter what version they bought, be able to download and use the patch without any unfair CD exchange wait?

The information I have is that the patch patches both versions. I hesitate only in that it is still being tested so I don't want to promise anything until we have confirmed that it does what its supposed to do.

I thank you Zulkir for the quick response. :)

As to all the questions you folks are asking as to what all is in the patch, they just started testing it so lets give them a chance. Its only a week more to see anyway.
Peace.

Yeah it's only a week but that's STILL a week and we're all naturally impatient beings :) Besides there should have been text includedd taht lists all issues that are fixed and what new things it adds etc etc. Would be nice to know things like if templates have been added to the mix as they aren't in the original version.

Someone wondered about the 2 different evrsions thing and I noticed that myself which is weird. The GenCon version is a different color background and such than the street release. Also, the GenCon version requires the cd to be in the drive while being used where the street version does not.

I'm pretty sure you have those swapped, Sr. Squirrel. It's the GenCon version (and the one that made it out first to certain hobby shops) that doesn't require the CD. The much more widely-distributed version does require the CD.
