occ: Just a quick reminder that I'll be out of town till Sunday. I'll try to pop in when I can, but might not be back on till Monday. We'll continue once I'm back to all my notes. I tried to email them to myself, but it looks like my work blocked the email from leaving (it was 12MB...).

Nars is easily able to spot that the bed is actually a trap. When any weight is placed on the bed it will collapse probably dropping someone into a pit below. The boards around the base of the bed prevent would be tomb robbers from spotting the trap in any cursory examination, but Nars is able to pick it out within seconds. In addition the bed is slightly warm to the touch, perhaps indicating something more than an empty pit below.

Percy's quick flip through the book shows that it may have value to someone of the intended audience but beyond that the book is in good shape and would be worth at least a little to a regular book dealer.

Rodimus joins the party soon after Nars spots the trap. He is covered in more blood than before but looks none the worse for wear.

I'm back :)

Are you collecting all of the gear from all the dead gnolls? With all those weapons and armor poor Courage will be weighed down in no time.

"Ah, the, er, bed's just a ruse. It's, er, warm, almost like a, ah, forge beneath. Don't touch the bed. Fits with the, er, brimstone smell" Nars looks around for a way to get the necklace without stepping on the bed. "Ishmael, could I, er, borrow your glaive to, ah, snatch the necklace?"

OOC: I was not planning to collect the gnolls gear, at least not until on the way out. Would Nars be able to lift the necklace off its peg with Ishmael's glaive?

"Glaive?" Ishmael ponders the question for a moment. "Oh that thing! I had sold mine glaive to enhance Violet" He pats his warhammer.

"But if thou needst a thing with reach, might I suggest mine Lance?"

"Oh, er, right," says Nars with a bit of a blush. He silently, with a nod for a thankyou, takes the lance and turns back into the room. Looking at Percy, he says, "I, er, think I can get it safely." He'll wait for the results of her detect magic spell and her word on whether to proceed with getting the necklace.

Percy presses her index fingers to her temples and says "Hmmmm." casting her detect magic. Scanning the room neither the necklace, nor the books, nor anything in the room really detects as magic beyond the equipment of her friends.

Nars, using Ishmael's Lance, is able to hook the necklace and drop it into his hands. It is a nice gold necklace, might be worth quite a bit, but it doesn't have any relation to the markings on the walls around the tomb. It bears the image of an angel all in embosed gold.

Percy

"Well done, Nars." she says, patting the dwarf on the shoulder. "OK. Well, Gorefoot is right, let's take the books. They aren't doing anyone good here. And the necklace. Gosh. I wonder if we've already taken out all the gnolls. Anyway, let's proceed. Ready to check the next door in this hallway, Nars?"
