E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

Velmont

First Post
Once Ridik will awake, he will see the large reptile. Having not his armor, he will simply stand up and cast bless for the other, keeping his way out of the beast, adding a comment like "Is it your habit to attract such creature at night?"

[Round 1]

Percy drops her crossbow and quickly picks up her spear and casts light a soft magenta glow suffuses the end of her spear illuminating the large draconic lupine form in front of them. The creature is about the size of Percy herself has an elongated jaw and a muscular build, though its wings seem stunted for its size.

Nezrak moves away from the creature as he casts glitterdust coating the creature in bright glittery dust. The creature is even more obvious to the eye but it does not appear to be blinded or hindered in any way by the glowing motes.

The creature charges Percy. It rear's its big ugly head and bites down upon her upraised weapon arm. Percy feels poison begin oozing from the creature's fangs but she staunchly resists its debilitating effects. Her arm however is bloody from the mauling.

Rodimus and Nars are up now and can act in Rd 2.

[Round 2]

Percy
Nezrak
Creature
Rodimus
Nars

Ridik and Gorefoot wake up to the sounds of combat at the end of round 2 and can act in round 3.

[sblock=ooc]Percy cast light, but setting against a charge is a standard action. Nezrak's spell was resisted. The creature charged and bit Percy who took 7 dmg and resisted the creature's poison.

Damage Recap:
Percy 38/45[/sblock]

SlagMortar

First Post
Nars draws out Felhunter while moving to flank with Rodimus. He lets out a bellow, "Leave her alone!" before stabbing the ghastly creature.

OOC:
If the creature does not have reach, then Percy would get an AoO with her longspear, unless you are ruling that she needed a free hand to cast a spell and could not put it back on the longspear during her last turn.
Felhunter (1d20+11=21, 4d6+3=16)
If he can't get flanking with Rodimus, he'll move across the beast from Percy and ready an action to attack when Percy steps back to threaten with her longspear.
If that's also not possible, he'll just attack. Roll with no flanking is 19 to hit and 4 damage.
HP: 43, AC: 20, Poison Save: +8

Manzanita

First Post
"Ow!" says Percy. She has been fortunate enough to avoid most physical damage despite her dangerous career. She has her steadfast companions to thank for that.

She steps back 5 feet and blasts it with a "Purple Fire!"

OOC: AoO: 4+4=8. magic missile dmg: 11

"Prey," the half-orc growls. He pounds straight for the creature, attempting a wrestle hold on it. He relishes the chance to go all out without having to worry too much what the goody-two-shoes think of him mutilating sentient creatures.

OoC: Touch attack (1d20+2=11), though for some unknown reason I used +2 instead of the correct +8 which would bring it to 17... Charge if possible.
Grapple check (1d20+12=19)
Grapple damage (1d8+4=8) I don't think Mighty Punch feat applies in grapple, but if it does, damage increases to 10.

[Round 1]

Percy's spear is easily avoided as the creature attacks her.

[Round 2]

Percy casts magic missile. The three tiny magenta missiles slam into the creature.

Nezrak follows up with a magic missile of his own. His however fizzles before striking the drake (SR).

The drake backs up a couple of feet to his right and opens his huge jaws. They seem to open far wider than possible like a snake as it breathes a blast of bluish-white gas at everyone in the camp. Amazingly Nars and Gorefoot throw off the effects of the gas, while the rest feel like they are moving through molasses.

Rodimus moves up next to the creature ready to wrestle it to the ground but with the added time it takes to get there he is unable to even grab it.

From where he is Nars is able to get around and flank with Rodimus. Felhunter slams into the creature's hide leaving a nasty impact wound in the soft spot right under the creature's foreleg.

Ridik and Gorefoot wake up to the sounds of combat.

[sblock=ooc]Nezrak's spell fails to pass SR this time, but Percy's makes it through. Percy, Nezrak, Rodimus, and Ridik (when he wakes) are slowed. Amusingly it was a will save and Nars and Gorefoot are tied for the lowest saves in the group :)

Damage Recap:
Percy 38/45
Ambush Drake 27dmg[/sblock]

First Post
When he awakens to the sight of the attack, Gorefoot grabs his greatsword and rushes to the attack.

OOC: Gorefoot will charge if he can (and power attack for 4), or maneuver in and try to flank (power attack for 4), or maneuver in close enough to simply attack with no benefit (power attack for 2). If he can charge into a flanking position, then he'll power attack for 5.
