E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

Upon receiving healing from Ridik, Nars thanks him, "Er, thank you. Not, ah, quite as good as, er, Sir Ishmael, but it, ah, feels much better."

Nars passed the rest of the night on the opposite side of the camp from the nasty creature.

OOC: K-arcana 8+10=18

IC: "Oh - I've heard of these things. They are ambush drakes. They are related to Dragons, but aren't as smart and stuff."

Percy has no further interest in the creature. Stinky dead bodies are not her thing. She's happy to get moving in the morning, refusing even to eat breakfast until she's on her horse. Fortunately for Gorefoot, who sits in front of her in the saddle, Percy is a delicate eater and drops no crumbs in his hair.

She points her horse North, and seems lost in thought most of the day.

OOC: Percy's four spells are still used, though, for the day, aren't they?

OOC: Yeah, good question, does teh spell of the night are spent, and do the wounded have healed during teh night from teh wound the have suffered from the drake?

ooc: the way I figured it was you didn't finish the 8 hrs of rest + 1 hr of prep time. So your spells count against yesterday's limit and you can start fresh after the prep time. you gain a regular night's rest/healing after that.

The next day prooves quite dreary. The clouds that had settled in late at night colour the sky in a bleak grey blanket. By late morning they have grown darker and a light spatter of rain beings. The group is still about 2 hours from the edge of the forest but should make it there by the time they are ready to break for their noon time meal.

The rain gets heavier and by the time they reach the eves of the forest everyone is thuroughly drenched. The trees provide some cover as the rain continues to intensify. The forest is fairly heavy on the edge of the plains and is a mix of largely arboreal trees with a few more rugged pines here and there.

Percy hates the rain in her hair, and her mood sours as they ride. She clucks disaprovingly at her arm, more at the rip in her cloak than the damage to the skin underneath.

It is with relief that she leaves the plains behind.

"How much farther, now, Gorefoot? I'd take a gang of goblins over a cold rainy ride like that."

[SBLOCK=OOC]fine, that mean we have all our spells and we are all at full hp...[/SBLOCK]

Ridik follows on his pony, his book protected in some waterproof cloth in his backpack.

Nars sits on his donkey like a wet sack of potatoes. His beard is pasted to his chest, his new gloves and armor are soaked through. Seeing the trees, he breathes a sigh of relief. It's not a nice, snug cave, but its better than being out in the open. After a short break for lunch, he's ready to continue on.

Gorefoot looks for a reasonably dry (or at least more dry) spot to camp among the trees. At Percy's question, he looks to the horizon and considers their current location and destination.

OOC: Erekose13, does Gorefoot have an estimate on time to the nomad camp?

The half-orc is wet to the bone after having sloshed through the wet plains for the end part of the day's journey and is seriously considering the possibility of finding a branch to sleep on.

ooc: Gorefoot will need a few survival checks to find his way to the nomad camp. It is somewhere in this forest and it has been a bit since he was last with them. Please go ahead and make rolls (and if anyone wants to aid another go ahead).
